Students meet boxing megastar Sandy Ryan
On Monday 19th June, students were invited to a session with boxing megastar Sandy Ryan, who won the WBO world welterweight title in April this year.
Students participated in a Q&A and some pad work. They discussed Sandy’s route to her world title win and what is possible to achieve with hard work and dedication.
Mr Beech, teacher, said “Sandy showed our students what is achievable even when you may not have the belief in yourself, and inspired them to aim for their best. She explained how life has its ups and downs and that it’s totally normal to have moments of doubt- something everyone can relate to. We hope that today’s session inspired students to pick themselves up and keep going because they truly believe they can achieve great things".
